MACPAC’s work to date has focused on the consequences of CHIP funding ending in 2015. With CHIP funding renewed through 2017 and a transformed policy context for children’s coverage, upcoming MACPAC analyses will consider ways to ensure affordable and adequate coverage to low- and moderate-income children, not just those who may lose separate CHIP coverage. This presentation describes some possible approaches to children’s coverage and considerations for those approaches, and provides data on key characteristics of low- and moderate-income children.
