Behavioral Health in Medicaid Program–People, Use and Expenditures

This presentation summarizes a prospective chapter in the June 2015 Report to Congress on Medicaid and CHIP, on the Medicaid behavioral health population. The chapter will identify subpopulations of Medicaid enrollees with different needs and service use patterns. This analysis is expected to be the starting point for future Commission work targeting policies and practices to improve care and control expenditures for these different population groups.
