Current federal law does not ensure continuity of coverage for children moving from one type of insurance program to another, such as from the State Children’s Health Insurance Program to an exchange plan. The MACPAC presentation outlines gaps in coverage that children could experience and proposals to protect transitioning children against reduced coverage.
