This session of the January 2018 Commission meeting presented the next step in the Commission’s long-term work plan to examine gaps in the substance use disorder (SUD) continuum of care. The Commission heard from three panelists with clinical, operations, and Medicaid policy expertise who discussed how the appropriate role of residential SUD treatment services and how they are provided under Medicaid:
- Yngvild Olsen, medical director at Behavior Resources, Inc./REACH Health Services;
- Enrique Olivares, director of addiction services at Beacon Health Options in Maryland; and
- Matthew Keats, behavioral health medical director at Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services.
