Integration of Care for Dually Eligible Beneficiaries: New Analyses

MACPAC is continuing to explore ways to increase availability of and enrollment in integrated care for individuals who are dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicaid. MACPAC presented the results of contractor work analyzing policy issues related to: (1) the role of Medicare agents and brokers in enrolling dually eligible beneficiaries in integrated care and (2) state opportunities to maximize their contracts with Medicare Advantage dual eligible special needs plans.

MACPAC contracted with Health Management Associates and Mathematica to interview stakeholders including federal and state officials, health plan representatives, and beneficiary advocates, across multiple states. The Commission considered the themes and findings from these projects.
