MACPAC’S June 2023 Report to Congress on Medicaid and CHIP contains four chapters of interest to Congress: (1) automatic adjustments to disproportionate share hospital payments, (2) integrating care for dually eligible beneficiaries, (3) access to Medicaid coverage and care during and after incarceration, and (4) barriers to Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS).
- Chapter 1 makes recommendations on payment policy for safety net hospitals.
- Chapter 2 builds upon the Commission’s previous work on integrating care for people who are dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare.
- Chapter 3 focuses on improving access to Medicaid coverage for adults leaving incarceration.
- Chapter 4 identifies barriers to Medicaid HCBS services.
