Managed Care Oversight

The use of managed care shifts responsibility and accountability from states to managed care organizations. This session will consider the adequacy of managed care oversight and whether current efforts are using the best tools and data to protect beneficiaries.

This presentation provides background on specific areas of managed care oversight that are relevant to concerns raised in recent press accounts and prior Commission discussions, including appeals and grievances, network adequacy, readiness, and provisions of particular relevance to individuals with significant or complex health care needs.
