Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) payments are made to hospitals with a high proportion of low-income patients to help offset uncompensated care. This session discusses the data limitations and policy questions that have emerged as the Commission prepares for its February 1, 2016 report to Congress on DSH payment.
