On April 10, 2015, CMS published a notice of proposed rulemaking detailing how certain requirements of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA, P.L. 110-343) could be applied to coverage offered by Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs), Medicaid alternative benefit plans, and CHIP. Although MACPAC’s statutory authority does not require it to comment on proposed rules, this presentation describes several proposals within the NPRM on which the Commission may wish to comment.
