This study presents national findings on Medicaid and CHIP children’s access to care by using a variety of measures from two national household surveys. The estimates give a national picture of how access to care for children enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP compares to children with ESI and uninsured children, based on reports from their parents or other household members. The reports constitute an important source of information about access to care for children since they are the only way to provide the family’s perspective on a child’s access and health care experiences.
