As part of a series of presentations updating the Commission on children’s coverage, this slide set provides an overview of policy implications for states and children in Medicaid-expansion CHIP if (1) federal CHIP funding is exhausted in fiscal year (FY) 2018 as will occur under current law, and (2) the maintenance of effort provision—which prevents states from reducing Medicaid eligibility levels for children—expires in FY 2020.
