As of April 2017, seven states have used Section 1115 waivers to expand Medicaid to the new adult group. This presentation highlights the key features of the seven expansion waiver programs, reports on preliminary findings from interim evaluations for Arkansas, Iowa, and Indiana, as well as partial results for Michigan with respect to benefits, premiums and cost sharing, healthy behavior incentives, and other features. The Commission also discussed the limitations of the evaluations in informing future decisions about similar waivers.
