Recent State Experiences with Major CHIP Changes

Changes made by Arizona, California, and New Hampshire to their separate State Children’s Health Insurance Programs (CHIP) may offer lessons to other states if they need to facilitate transitions out of CHIP. The MACPAC staff presentation reviews the specific changes to separate CHIP programs in these three states, issues that these experiences brought to light, and considerations for states that also are facing the sunset of separate CHIP.
