March 2012 Report to the Congress on Medicaid and CHIP

The March 2012 Report focuses on several of Congress’s priority issues: Medicaid and persons with disabilities, access to care for children in Medicaid or CHIP, state Medicaid financing approaches and implications for provider payment, an update on CHIP financing issues, and program integrity efforts in Medicaid.

The March 2012 report also contains the Commission’s recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services on two key issues: the advancement of approaches to improve care and control costs for the over 9 million persons with disabilities covered by Medicaid, and the coordination and implementation of Medicaid program integrity activities.
