The Express Lane Eligibility (ELE) option, authorized as part of the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA), was the focus of an evaluation by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Consistent with MACPAC’s authorizing statute, this MACPAC staff presentation reviewed the evaluation findings from the 13 states that implemented ELE. The Commission’s views on HHS’s findings were subsequently communicated in a letter to the Secretary of HHS.
