Review of the Secretary’s Report on Medicaid Housing Supports for Individuals with Substance Use Disorder

In November 2020, the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a report to Congress on housing services and supports for individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. The report was mandated by Congress in section 1017 of the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act (SUPPORT Act, P.L. 115-271). This presentation summarized key findings from the report and identified potential areas for MACPAC comment.
