In December 2014, MACPAC executive director Anne Schwartz testified on MACPAC’s behalf before the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Health Subcommittee. The hearing discussed the importance of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), addressed concerns about CHIP, and how the Affordable Care Act potentially might affect the program. MACPAC’s testimony discussed the Commission’s unanimous recommendation to extend CHIP for an additional two years, its rationale for making the recommendation, evidence considered, and financing issues.
