The Intersection of Medicaid and Child Welfare

This presentation reviews a proposed chapter in the June 2015 Report to Congress on Medicaid and CHIP on the intersection of Medicaid and child welfare. Children and youth involved in the child welfare system have either been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect, or are receiving in-home services. They have significant health, behavioral, and other social needs, as well as very low family incomes in order to be eligible federally funded child welfare services.
