The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is a provider-led model that provides fully integrated care to frail adults ages 55 and older with nursing-facility level of care needs while allowing them to remain in the community. In September, staff provided the Commission with an overview of the PACE model, including information on the regulatory framework design elements, enrollment and spending data, and outcome evaluations.
In this session, MACPAC staff described key findings from a series of interviews with state and federal PACE stakeholders that provided insight into the operation of—and challenges and opportunities present in—the PACE model. This presentation details interview findings on state goals for the model, provider application process, beneficiary enrollment and services, federal and state oversight, and payment rate development.
