Tim Engelhardt, Acting Director of the Federal Coordinated Health Care Office at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides the Commission with an update on the status of CMS’s Financial Alignment Initiative demonstration for beneficiaries who are dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare. Mr. Englehardt’s presentation covers state participation, evaluation design, and lessons learned to date from this effort to coordinate Medicaid and Medicare policy.
