Use of non-emergency medical transportation

This slide set discusses non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT), a required Medicaid benefit designed to remove access barriers that lack of transportation frequently creates for low-income individuals. The presentation includes a review of national data on NEMT use as well as more detailed information from case studies of NEMT utilization in Indiana and Vermont, looking at who uses NEMT, their most frequent diagnoses, and policy issues for the Commission’s consideration.
